At Medical Park Hospitals, our Perinatology Division provides specialized care to ensure the health of both mother and fetus throughout pregnancy. Recent advancements in genetics, ultrasound imaging, MRI, and prenatal screening tests including dual tests, quadruple tests, and NIPT—have greatly improved the ability to detect and manage potential medical conditions during pregnancy.
Recognizing the need for high-technology, knowledge-driven services, the Ministry of Health officially recognized Perinatology as a sub-discipline in 2011. Our independent Perinatology Division brings together advanced diagnostic tools, experienced specialists, and personalized care to support mothers and families in high-risk pregnancies.
Scope of Perinatology
The Perinatology Division specializes in:
Evaluation of fetal health: Detecting structural anomalies and chromosomal conditions.
Prenatal diagnostic procedures: Performing invasive tests such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and cordocentesis when needed.
Management of high-risk pregnancies: Monitoring and treating maternal conditions like hypertension, diabetes, preeclampsia, thyroid disorders, and other systemic illnesses that can complicate pregnancy.
Fetal interventions: Treating functional or structural fetal anomalies through medical therapies (e.g., fetal cardiac arrhythmias, fetal goiter) or invasive procedures (e.g., intrauterine transfusions, fetal shunt placement).
Multiple pregnancies: Diagnosing and managing complications unique to twin or higher-order pregnancies.
Preconception counseling: Assessing genetic or systemic conditions in parents and planning safe pregnancy strategies, particularly for women with prior maternal or fetal complications.
Our Perinatology Division works closely with obstetricians and gynecologists to provide comprehensive support for maternal and fetal health, guiding families through diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.

Detailed 4D ultrasound (level 2) at 20–24 weeks for structural assessment.
Prenatal diagnostic invasive procedures: amniocentesis, CVS, cordocentesis.
High-risk pregnancy monitoring using first-trimester double marker tests, quadruple tests, or NIPT (cffDNA).
Fetal and Maternal Health Monitoring
Detection and supervision of perinatal infections (Rubella, CMV, Toxoplasmosis, Parvovirus B19).
Management of erythrocyte alloimmunization (Rh incompatibility or other blood antigen incompatibilities).
Evaluation of fetal anemia using MCA Doppler and cordocentesis if needed.
Assessment and care for multiple pregnancies, including TTTS, TAPS, and selective IUGR.
