Before Your Travel

Travelling for treatment involves medical, practical and personal preparation. Use this checklist alongside the guidance provided by your physician, airline, insurer and Medical Park international patient representative.

Medical Preparation

• Ask your treating physician whether you are medically fit to travel.
• Discuss how ongoing medication should be managed before, during and after the journey.
• Plan follow-up care with your local physician and Medical Park team where appropriate.
• Carry an up-to-date medication list, allergy information and relevant emergency contacts.
• Tell the coordinator about mobility, oxygen, dietary or accessibility needs before travel.

Documents to Carry

• Passport and any required visa or entry documents
• Treatment invitation or appointment confirmation
• Travel and health insurance documents
• Medical reports, imaging access details and prescriptions
• Contact details for your coordinator, hospital and local emergency contact
• Payment or insurer authorisation documents, where relevant

Medication and Medical Equipment

Keep essential medication and important medical documents in your hand luggage. Carry medication in original packaging where possible, together with prescriptions or supporting letters. Check airline, airport and customs requirements for medication, liquids, needles, batteries, oxygen and medical devices before travelling.

Travel Arrangements

• Confirm that the name on your ticket matches your passport.
• Allow sufficient time for treatment, recovery and any required follow-up appointment.
• Confirm airport pickup details and the name of your hospital contact before departure.
• Tell your airline in advance if you require wheelchair, mobility or medical assistance.
• Plan suitable accommodation for any period outside the hospital.
• Ensure you can access funds and notify your bank of international travel if necessary.
